The Journey Toward Sunday

Hi everyone, it's been a very full week this week with the announcement of my departure.  I am grateful for the support I've received and the conversations I've had with people.  If you would like to talk to me, I'd be happy to meet with you.  Feel free to call to set up a time.

Last week we had a wonderful Consecration Sunday celebration!  Thanks to everyone who provided food, and to all who contributed time and energy to setting up and cleaning up.

Last week's workday that was rained/snowed/winded out has been rescheduled for tomorrow!  Please make plans to come beautify the church and grounds.  We'll start at 9:00am.

Thank you to everyone who submitted Newsletter articles.  If you haven't yet done so and plan to, please let Dina know that a submission will be coming and get it in ASAP.

Ladies Night Out is scheduled, at Du Claw restaurant in Bowie Town Center Tonight!  Come at 7 p.m. to relax and enjoy each other's company.  Tables have been reserved so please call or e-mail Shirley B. if you plan to participate.

And Sunday Morning Shirley is starting a new Adult Education course using Philip Yancey's new book What Good Is God? In Search of a Faith That Matters as a discussion starter.  The course will run three weeks until the start of Advent.

In worship this Sunday we'll be reading Philippians 3:4b-14 and Matthew 21:33-46.  I'd invite you to take a few minutes to read the passages and pray with them to prepare yourselves for Sunday. 

Prayer requests:  Mr. Mcfarland is at home and still regaining strength.  Robin is in Philly continuing treatment for headaches and my grandma seems to be quite a bit better.  Please keep all of them in your prayers; in addition to, of course, the church as we face a time of transition coming soon.
