The Journey Toward Sunday

I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

We had an informative discussion about children and communion after worship last Sunday.  I hope that some of you who were asking good questions (and others, whether you were at that discussion or not) might make it to the Adult Education course focusing on the meaning and practice of communion this Sunday.  It meets at 9:45 and there is child care available.

Keep an eye out for the first letter of the Stewardship Season... it should arrive Friday or Saturday... in it you'll find an RSVP card for the Consecration Sunday Luncheon to be held October 30 after the worship service.  Take a moment to fill it out and bring it on Sunday, it will be great to have everyone come together to celebrate!

This Sunday in worship we'll be reading Leviticus 19:1-2, 15-18 and Matthew 22:34-46.  Take a few minutes to read the passages and pray with them to prepare yourselves for the service.

And in the next couple of days there are a few opportunities to look forward in the life of the congregation... I'd encourage you to be a part of whatever interests you and get in touch with me if you need any more info!  Friday evening at the Barbato's home, people will gather to talk about possibilities for Ladies' Night Out... Saturday morning the Parish Board, Committee Chairs, and other interested folks will get together to set some direction and make some plans for the coming year(s)... and Sunday after the worship service the Christian Spiritual Formation Committee will be meeting... Lots of good stuff going on at the United Parish this week!
